Our Peace Lily has seen better days to say the least!
I’m not entirely sure when this plant came into our possession, possibly around 2003-2005, which would suggest we’ve not done quite as badly with care I thought.
A year or so back the plant wilted, leaves were turning brown and drying out. It hadn’t flowered for quite some time.
We thought it wasn’t getting enough water, more didn’t help.
Maybe it wasn’t getting enough light? Nope, that just caused leaves to turn brown even faster.
It got to the point the plant looked like it was dead. I thought I’d give it another go, it’s a plant, it might recover right?
So chopped back all the apparently dead material leaving a rather dead looking stump.
After a bit of reading it seems perhaps we had been over watering, so decided to water only when the cm or so of compost feels dry.
That seemed to help. Our peace lily is now putting up a fight for life!
We’ve a couple of small new green leaves coming through. Fingers crossed with the dryer watering regime it may start to thrive again.

I’d be pleased to hear from people about how they care for their peace lily. All advice gratefully received!
