2 Questions for any green fingered readers that may stumble across this wee blog.

What are these little black insects on my sunflower and how do I get rid of them?

I would prefer a non-chemical solution, but releasing predators like ladybirds is probably futile as this isn’t in a greenhouse or even a garden so I’d expect them up to fly off rather than hang about.
